Our GPs have the resources to swab test 25% of all patients presenting with an Influenza-Like-Illness (ILI) – that is fever, cough and fatigue. The swabs are sent off to the laboratory where they are analysed for the presence of 12 respiratory viruses including Influenza A, Influenza B and the common cold (rhinovirus). Results are sent out within 24 hours of us receiving the sample, so that you get your results fast and can be administered treatment, if it is available.
